Honeywell 05704-A-0145 Input & Output Specifications
Input
4 galvanically-isolated independent analog input channels for field process transmitters;
Nominal input signal: 4-20 mA 2-wire loop sensor signal;
Measuring range: 0-25 mA, supports over-range signal detection for field fault diagnosis;
Isolated loop sensor power supply: Regulated 24 V DC per channel, maximum output current 25 mA for powering 2-wire field transmitters;
Module power supply input: 18-32 V DC wide-range DC power input;
Input fault detection capability: Supports open-loop, short-circuit and over-current diagnostic for each field input channel.
Output
3-channel form-C relay alarm outputs (NO / NC dry contact), configurable for high-limit, low-limit and system fault alarm interlock;
Front-panel local human-machine 阿interface: Digital numerical display for channel process value, multi-color LED status indicators for channel alarm, fault and power status;
Back-plane parallel system communication output: Interfaces with System 57 rack backplane bus, uploading all measured process values, alarm events and module diagnostic status to host monitoring system;
No analog retransmission output; all process data is transferred via rack back-plane communication;
Relay contacts support external load switching for local audible/visual alarm devices or external safety interlock circuits.

Honeywell 05704-A-0145 Wiring Instructions
1. System Rack Backplane Connection
Install the 05704-A-0145 control card into the standard slot of Honeywell System 57 19-inch rack, and securely fasten the upper and lower mounting screws.
The rack backplane bus provides 18-32 V DC working power and supports internal digital communication between the control card and relay interface card.
No external power wiring is required for the 05704-A-0145 card, as the whole rack system is powered by the dedicated rack DC input card.
Ensure the rack protective earth is reliably connected to the cabinet grounding stud for reliable EMC anti-interference performance.
2. Field 2-Wire 4-20mA Transmitter Wiring (Via Interface Card Terminals)
Each channel provides independent galvanic-isolated 24V DC loop power with a maximum output current of 25mA, specially for powering 2-wire field transmitters.
Loop Positive: Connect the +24V terminal of the interface card channel to the transmitter positive terminal.
Loop Signal Negative: Connect the transmitter negative terminal to the channel signal return (S) terminal on the interface card.
The maximum total loop resistance (cable + transmitter) is 500Ω. Keep cable length within the allowable range to avoid signal deviation and measurement error.
The cable shield shall be grounded only at the cabinet cable entry gland. Double-end grounding is prohibited to prevent ground loop noise.
Separate signal cables from high-power AC cables physically to minimize electromagnetic interference.

3. Relay Alarm Output Wiring (Form-C Dry Contact)
The module provides 3-channel alarm relay outputs routed to the interface card terminals, featuring voltage-free Form-C dry contacts (COM / NO / NC).
COM: Relay common terminal
NO: Normally Open contact, closes when alarm is triggered
NC: Normally Closed contact, opens when alarm is triggered
External alarm devices (buzzer, warning lamp, on-site interlock circuit) can be connected to COM-NO or COM-NC terminals as required.
Relay contact rating: 5A @250VAC / 5A @32VDC. Do not operate beyond the maximum load capacity.
4. Optional Remote Function Input Wiring
Two dry-contact remote functions are available and wired to the corresponding terminals on the interface card:
Remote Inhibit: External dry contact signal to disable channel alarm function
Remote Reset: External dry contact signal for remote alarm reset
5. Pre-Power-On Inspection Items
Complete all field wiring with the entire rack system fully powered off; live wiring operation is strictly prohibited.
Check all analog channels to ensure no positive-negative short circuit.
Confirm cable shield grounding and rack protective earthing are in good condition.
Verify relay external loads comply with contact rating specifications without overloading.
6. Important Wiring Notes
The 05704-A-0145 main card must work with the 05704-A-0121 interface card. Field sensors and alarm loads cannot be directly connected to the main control card.
All 4-20mA channels are fully isolated with independent 24V DC loop power supply to avoid inter-channel interference.
Built-in fault diagnosis detects loop open/short circuit faults and displays fault information on the front panel.
Twisted-pair shielded cables must be used for all 4-20mA signal wiring for stable and accurate field signal acquisition.
