Fault 1: Dual cooling fans stop working, power indicator off
Cause: Missing AC input power; input voltage deviates from the standard 85-132 VAC range; blown on-board fuse; loose power terminal connections.
Solution: Cut off the module power supply, measure AC input voltage to verify compliance with specifications; inspect and fasten loose power terminals; check and replace the blown on-board fuse; confirm no short-circuit fault before power restoration; replace the entire fan assembly if the internal power circuit is damaged.
Fault 2: Single fan stall with fan fault alarm triggered
Cause: Fan impeller blocked by dust or foreign debris; worn bearings or damaged fan motor; loose tachometer speed signal connector; failure of the on-board fan drive circuit.
Solution: Power off the equipment, clean dust and foreign obstructions around the fan impeller, and check the flexibility of fan mechanical rotation; inspect and secure the tachometer pulse signal connector; replace the faulty single fan with a 120 VAC fan that meets original specifications; replace the MC-FAN611 integral assembly if the internal drive circuit fails.
Fault 3: Normal fan operation with false stall alarm
Cause: Poor contact of tachometer signal lines; aging signal cables; mismatched tachometer parameters of replacement fans; drift of the on-board signal sampling circuit.
Solution: Reinstall and fasten the tachometer signal connectors, and check cable insulation integrity; confirm the replacement fan is consistent with the original tachometer output specifications; eliminate electromagnetic interference on signal wiring; replace the fan module if the sampling circuit is faulty.
Fault 4: False over-temperature alarm with normal actual cabinet temperature
Cause: Damaged on-board temperature sensor; open circuit of the sensor loop; blocked cabinet air duct leading to accumulated heat.
Solution: Clean the cabinet air duct and filter screen to ensure smooth heat dissipation; inspect temperature sensor wiring and test sensor signal validity; replace the MC-FAN611 assembly if the internal temperature detection circuit fails.
Fault 5: Alarm relay fails to act under fault conditions
Cause: Burned relay contacts; loose dry-contact output terminal wiring; faulty relay drive circuit.
Solution: Power off the module, inspect alarm relay output terminals, and measure contact continuity in fault state; check the connection of remote alarm signal wiring; replace the integral fan assembly if the relay or its drive circuit is damaged.
Fault 6: Alarm cannot be cleared by external reset signal
Cause: Open circuit of external reset dry-contact wiring; poor contact of reset signal terminals; internal logic circuit latch-up failure.
Solution: Verify the validity of external reset dry-contact input and check terminal connection status; perform a full power cycle to complete module hard reset; replace the assembly if the internal logic circuit malfunctions permanently.
Fault 7: Abnormal fan noise and severe vibration
Cause: Dust accumulation on fan blades; deformed fan impeller; aging fan bearings; loose mounting fasteners.
Solution: Clean dirt on the fan impeller, tighten all mounting screws; replace the aging and damaged fan unit if abnormal noise and vibration persist after maintenance.
Fault 8: Rack system fails to receive module alarm signals remotely
Cause: Loose or open backplane alarm signal wiring; incorrect terminal configuration; damaged internal signal output circuit.
Solution: Inspect the hard-wired alarm signal links between the fan module and DCS rack; verify and correct terminal assignment; replace the fan assembly if the internal signal output circuit is damaged.
