The Woodward 9907-167 (505E digital turbine governor) is designed for standard front panel mounting. A sealing gasket is installed on the back of the front bezel to form a tight seal between the controller and cabinet panel. Create the required cutout on the sturdy control cabinet panel, insert the controller from the front of the panel, and secure it in place using eight front mounting screws. Adequate clearance behind the panel must be reserved for wiring, heat dissipation and future maintenance.
All field wiring connects to detachable terminal blocks at the rear of the controller. To minimize electromagnetic interference, low-power signal cables should be routed separately from high-current power cables.
For outdoor or severe operating conditions, an optional NEMA 4X protective enclosure can be used. The controller may be fitted onto the enclosure front door, and wiring conduits can be mounted through removable cable gland plates at the bottom of the enclosure.
Select a mounting location away from direct sunlight, intense vibration, corrosive vapors and splashing water, and ensure the ambient temperature stays within the rated operating range. Wear proper anti-static protection when handling the controller to avoid electrostatic damage to internal circuit boards. Avoid installation in poorly ventilated areas to prevent overheating.
