Metso PDP601 Process Data Processor I/O & System Compatibility Specifications

Overview: The Metso PDP601 is a high-performance distributed process data processor dedicated for mineral processing, grinding and flotation industrial control systems. It serves as a field distributed I/O and data processing core module, supporting digital signal acquisition, logic control and bus data transmission, and expands analog functions via external I/O modules.

1. Power Input Parameters

Operating power supply input: 10–30V DC wide-range DC power supply (nominal operating voltage: 24V DC, matches industrial standard control power supply)

Max input current: 400mA

Typical power consumption: 20–30W under full-load operating condition

2. Signal Input Specifications

Digital input: Standard 24V DC logic-level input, adapted to industrial switching sensors, limit switches and on-site digital feedback signals, supporting real-time discrete signal acquisition.

Analog input: No built-in native analog input channels; analog voltage/current signal collection (4–20mA / 0–10V) is realized by matching external Metso dedicated expansion I/O modules.

3. Signal Output Specifications

Digital output: Dual-type configurable output including relay contact output and transistor 24V DC output, used for on-site valve control, equipment start-stop interlock and indicator signal output.

Analog output: No built-in native analog output channels; analog regulation output is implemented through external supporting expansion modules.

Communication output: Onboard Ethernet interface, compatible with Modbus industrial protocol and Metso proprietary distributed I/O bus, realizing data interaction, remote diagnosis and system interconnection with upper control units.

4. Supported Control System & Platform

Compatible DCS/Control System: Metso DNA Automation System, Metso Plant Information Control System, supporting distributed field control network architecture and redundant system operation.

Applicable Industrial Scenarios: Specialized for mining, mineral processing, flotation and grinding production line automatic control systems.

5. Supported Configuration & Monitoring Software

Configuration software: Metso default dedicated programming & configuration tool, supporting module parameter setting, I/O point configuration, logic program editing and offline simulation.

Monitoring software: Matches Metso trend recording, data visualization and equipment state monitoring software components, realizing real-time data viewing, historical trend query and equipment fault alarm recording.

Metso PDP601 Function:

The Metso PDP601 is a field-deployed distributed process data processor designed for mineral processing and industrial automation systems. It acquires on-site 24V DC discrete digital input signals from field sensors, limit switches and auxiliary feedback devices for real-time status collection. The module supports standalone local logic computation and interlock judgment, enabling on-site independent safety interlock and sequential control without relying entirely on the upper controller. It provides relay and transistor-type digital outputs to drive field actuators, valves and indicator devices for on-site equipment start-stop and linkage control.

The processor communicates with the upper DCS/control system through Ethernet, Modbus protocol and Metso dedicated distributed I/O bus, uploading real-time field data and receiving remote control commands. It supports online parameter configuration, program modification and remote equipment fault diagnosis to facilitate daily maintenance and system debugging.

The PDP601 itself does not integrate analog input/output functions; all 4–20mA current and voltage analog signal acquisition and output require extended external I/O modules. Adopting distributed decentralized control architecture, it effectively disperses field control tasks, reduces upper system operation load, improves system response speed and stability, and is widely applied in grinding, flotation and mineral processing production lines.
