Honeywell 51199929-100 (SPS5710) Wiring Instructions
General Specifications
Input: 100–240 VAC, 47–63 Hz, 10 A
Output: 24–26 VDC, 20 A
Application: Dedicated backplane power supply for Honeywell C300 and TDC3000 control systems.
1. AC Input Terminals (Mains Side)
L: AC Live line
N: AC Neutral line
PE: Protective Earth (must be connected to the cabinet safety ground bar)
Wiring Notes: Use 14–16 AWG copper cables for AC input. Install a 10 A rated external circuit breaker on the upstream AC power circuit for overcurrent protection.
2. DC Output Terminals (Load Side)
DC output connects directly to the DCS system rack backplane.
DC+: 24–26 VDC positive output
DC-: 24–26 VDC negative output
RTN: DC return ground (bonded to cabinet protective ground)
Wiring Requirements: Apply heavy-gauge copper conductors for DC output wiring. Fully torque all terminal screws to prevent loose connections and overheating. Do not daisy-chain multiple equipment racks from a single power supply output.

3. Redundant Parallel Wiring (Dual SPS5710 Configuration)
Two 51199929-100 power supplies can be configured for parallel redundant operation:
Connect DC+ to DC+ and DC- to DC- between the two power units.
Install an external OR-ing diode board across the parallel outputs to avoid reverse current damage.
Feed each power supply from a completely independent AC power source to ensure full system redundancy.
4. Alarm Relay Dry Contact Terminals
ALM-COM: Alarm common terminal
ALM-NO: Alarm normally open contact
ALM-NC: Alarm normally closed contact
Function Description: The relay contact status changes when faults occur, including AC input loss, overvoltage, overcurrent, and internal power supply failure. This is a dry contact interface, requiring external power for alarm signal acquisition.
5. Grounding Specifications
The PE terminal must be reliably connected to cabinet protective ground; signal ground cannot replace safety protective earth.
Separate high-voltage AC cables from low-voltage DC and signal cables with a minimum spacing of 5 cm to avoid interference.
Implement single-end grounding for all cable shields at the cabinet ground bar.
6. Pre-Power-On Inspection Checklist
Confirm the actual AC input voltage matches the power supply nameplate rating.
Verify no short circuit exists between DC+ and DC- terminals.
Check all terminal screws are properly torqued with no exposed bare copper wire.
Ensure protective earth grounding is fully and correctly installed.

Advantages of Honeywell 51199929‑100 (SPS5710)
1. Supports seamless 1:1 redundant parallel operation. Dual power supplies implement automatic load sharing and bumpless failover. No voltage drop or system interruption occurs during single-module failure, ensuring high reliability and continuous operation for critical DCS systems.
2. Hot-swap capability is available in redundant configuration. The module can be replaced online without shutting down the control rack, minimizing maintenance downtime and reducing system operational risks.
3. Features a wide universal AC input range of 100–240 VAC to adapt to various global industrial power conditions. It provides stable, low-ripple 24–26 VDC regulated output to protect sensitive C300 and TDC3000 controller and I/O circuits.
4. Equipped with comprehensive built-in protection functions, including overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and overtemperature protection. Effective fault isolation prevents backplane bus damage caused by internal module failures.
5. Integrated dry-contact alarm relay enables hardwired fault signal transmission to the central HMI for remote monitoring and fault diagnosis. Front-panel LED indicators provide intuitive on-site status visualization and quick troubleshooting.
6. Adopts high-performance filtering design with strong EMI/RFI suppression capability. It effectively resists industrial electromagnetic interference and supplies clean and stable power for DCS backplane systems.
7. Industrial-grade rugged structure with conformal-coated PCB ensures stable performance under high-temperature and high-humidity factory conditions. It meets FM Class I Div 2 hazardous area certification requirements.
8. Native compatibility with Honeywell Experion PKS C300 and legacy TDC3000 systems enables direct rack installation without additional adapters. The compact modular design effectively saves cabinet installation space.
9. High-efficiency power conversion and active power factor correction reduce heat generation and energy loss, extending service life during long-term 24/7 full-load industrial operation.
