Main Functions

1. Control Program Execution

The ABB PM904F executes control applications developed in the ABB Freelance Engineering environment. As the central processing unit of the AC 900F controller, it performs real-time control, data processing, communication, and I/O management.

The main control functions include:

PID and other regulatory control algorithms

Process data acquisition and handling

The controller supports configurable cyclic, event-driven, and PLC-style task execution. Depending on the application and system configuration, controller task cycle times can be configured from approximately 5 ms.

2. I/O Management

The PM904F supports flexible integration of both local and remote I/O systems, allowing it to control and monitor a wide range of industrial field devices.
