Input
Rated working current: 0–35 A three-phase AC monitoring range, integrated built-in current transformers for real-time three-phase motor current sampling and overload/overcurrent detection. Supported power supply input: Single-phase AC 85~264 V wide-range operating voltage. It supports external dry-contact trip input for remote forced trip interlock signal, adopting passive contact acquisition mode with no external power supply required.

Remark
The UKB-3-35E is a dedicated electronic motor overcurrent and overload protection relay. It only supports discrete contact signal input/output and three-phase current sampling monitoring, without any analog signal I/O functions. It features wide voltage adaptability, high-precision current detection and reliable contact output, widely used for three-phase motor overload, locked-rotor and overcurrent protection.

Pre-operation Check
Complete full wiring verification prior to power-up. Ensure the three-phase motor main conductors pass through the module’s integrated current transformers. Confirm the control supply voltage complies with the rated AC 85-264 V operating range. Validate correct termination of external trip input and relay output terminals, including trip, alarm and auxiliary contacts. Check for potential short-circuit hazards and loose terminal connections.
Power-on Procedure
Supply control power to the protection unit. The power indicator shall light on, and the module executes internal self-diagnostics. Absence of fault-LED illumination indicates normal standby status. Do not energize the motor main circuit until all parameter configuration is finished.
Parameter Setting
Adjust the front-panel rotary dial to set the motor rated current within the 0-35 A measurement range, matching the actual full-load current of the protected motor. Set the overload trip time according to motor thermal properties, and select a suitable trip curve for standard-start or heavy-duty startup conditions. The external trip function is enabled or disabled via internal DIP switches. Once activated, closure of the external dry-contact will initiate a protection trip. All dial and DIP-switch modifications take effect instantly; no additional save operation is needed.
Normal Running Operation
Switch on three-phase motor power after configuration completion. The module continuously samples three-phase current through built-in CTs. The green run-status LED remains illuminated during normal motor operation. The trip contact stays closed, the alarm contact keeps open, and the auxiliary contact transmits normal-status feedback to remote systems. Real-time motor current can be read from the front-panel ammeter. When the measured current exceeds the preset threshold, the overload timing sequence will commence.
Protection Trip Behavior
When overload, locked-rotor, overcurrent or external trip signal is detected:
The trip relay contact opens to de-energize the motor breaker control circuit and stop the motor.
The red fault indicator turns on, and the alarm contact changes state to deliver remote fault notification.
The fault status is latched. Automatic motor restart will not occur even after the fault condition vanishes.
Fault Reset Operation
Two reset approaches are provided:
Local reset: Press the front-panel reset pushbutton after fault elimination. The fault LED turns off, and relay contacts revert to normal standby condition.
Remote reset: Apply dry-contact reset signal to the remote-reset input terminal. Reset action will only function when the root cause of fault has been removed.
Note: Power cycling cannot release the latched fault state; either local or remote reset must be performed.
Daily Inspection & Maintenance
Periodically observe power, run and fault indicator status. Check terminals and module enclosure for abnormal temperature rise. Operate within ambient temperature range of -10 ℃ ~ +55 ℃, and keep away from heavy-dust and corrosive-gas surroundings. Regularly retighten terminal screws.
Troubleshooting Notes
No LED indication after power-on: Verify control supply voltage and power-circuit wiring.
Unexpected false tripping: Re-examine motor current setting, confirm trip-time curve selection, and check for accidental triggering of external trip signal.
Reset command ineffective: Confirm fault source has been fully resolved and inspect remote-reset input wiring.
Continuous tripping during motor startup: Double-check rated-current setting, and investigate motor mechanical blocking or winding defects.
Safety Notice
All wiring work, DIP-switch reconfiguration and maintenance shall be carried out under complete power-off condition. Parameter adjustment during motor running is prohibited unless site safety conditions are guaranteed. Relay contact rating: AC250V 5A for resistive load; do not exceed the maximum contact switching capacity.
