Metso ITP201 Intelligent Temperature Transmitter-Function Description

ITP201 is a head-mounted smart temperature transmitter developed by Metso (Valmet), specially designed for industrial process temperature measurement.

It captures raw temperature signals supplied by RTD and multiple-type thermocouple field sensors;

Built-in algorithms complete signal linearisation, automatic cold-junction compensation, digital filtering and precise temperature computation;

Measured temperature data is converted into industry-standard 4-20 mA loop analogue signal, together with superimposed HART 7 digital communication;

Processed signals are sent to DCS, PLC or local display units to realise real-time temperature observation and closed-loop process regulation;

Users can locally or remotely configure measurement span, sensor mode, damping parameter and engineering unit through HART hand-held communicator;

Integrated diagnostic functions continuously monitor sensor status, covering cable breakage, short-circuit and measurement over-range alarm notifications;

Excellent long-term stability and minor thermal drift make it suitable for pulp-and-paper, power generation, chemical and other heavy-duty working scenarios;

IP66 / NEMA 4X rated enclosure provides reliable defence against dust and humidity for demanding field installation conditions.
