Kongsberg RCU 510 (601418) Voltage and Current Specifications

Power Supply Parameters

The Kongsberg RCU 510 operates on a standard 24 VDC power supply, with a durable working voltage range of 18 VDC to 31.2 VDC to accommodate voltage fluctuations common in marine and offshore environments. It supports dual redundant power input to eliminate single-point power failure risks and ensure uninterrupted system operation. Under normal operating conditions, the module draws a typical current of 0.8 A, with a maximum inrush current of 2.7 A during startup and a maximum full-load power consumption of 20 W. Integrated protective functions including overvoltage, undervoltage and reverse polarity protection effectively prevent circuit damage caused by abnormal power supply conditions.

Field I/O Signal Parameters

Equipped with universal multi-function I/O channels, the RCU 510 supports flexible voltage and current signal input and output for industrial and marine field devices. For analog input, the module accepts 0–10 VDC and ±10 VDC voltage signals, as well as standard 4–20 mA current signals, and is fully compatible with PT100 temperature sensors and potentiometer devices.

For analog output, the first 16 channels support user-configurable 4–20 mA current output and 0–10 VDC / ±10 VDC voltage output, which is applicable for driving various on-site actuators. All analog channels feature high-precision signal processing and real-time loop fault diagnosis, capable of identifying open circuits, short circuits and signal out-of-range abnormalities.

The module’s digital input channels support Namur signals and dry contact switching signals with stable low-voltage detection performance. Built-in relay outputs provide isolated passive switch signals without self-contained voltage or current load output, ensuring safe and reliable field signal transmission.

Kongsberg RCU 510 (601418) Wiring Method

The RCU 510 uses screw terminal block wiring for power, I/O and communication signals, suitable for marine vibration environments.

Power Wiring

Supports dual redundant 24 VDC power input. Built-in reverse polarity, overvoltage and undervoltage protection ensures stable power operation.

Field I/O Wiring

All analog and digital signals use shielded twisted-pair cables with single-point grounding to reduce electromagnetic interference. Locking terminals prevent loose wiring caused by vibration.

Communication Wiring

Dual Ethernet ports adopt shielded Cat5e cables for system communication. Serial ports use shielded signal cables for stable Modbus RTU and marine protocol transmission. Sufficient wiring margin is reserved for vibration buffering and maintenance.
