Module Type: High-performance power supply module designed for GE Multilin UR series universal protective relays
Input (AC/DC Power Input)
Nominal input voltage range: 125 V – 250 V AC / DC
Wide operating input range: 100 V – 264 V AC / DC
Applicable AC frequency: 50 Hz and 60 Hz, auto-adaptive
Supports mixed AC and DC power supply scenarios with wide voltage tolerance, suitable for various industrial power supply environments.
Output
Maximum continuous output power: 45 W
Internal system power output: Stabilized regulated DC power to supply the main control circuit of UR series relays
Dry contact excitation output: 48 VDC, dedicated to powering dry contact input loops of protection relays
Maximum allowable output current: 5 A
Dielectric isolation rating: 2300 VAC (withstand for 1 minute)
Power hold-up time: ≥20 ms under full load condition with 120 VAC input, ensuring continuous operation during brief power fluctuations
Integrated multi-level protection functions: Over-temperature automatic shutdown (trip threshold: 105°C), over-current protection and over-voltage protection to safeguard the module and connected relay equipment against abnormal operating conditions.

Pre-commissioning Inspection
Disconnect all control power to the UR rack and confirm zero voltage across all terminals.
Carry out visual inspection on the UR-SHA module to check for cracks, burn marks, damaged connectors or bent pins.
Confirm the module model complies with the bill of materials: UR-SHA power supply module for GE Multilin UR series.
Check mechanical mounting status: ensure the module is fully inserted into the specified rack slot with latches securely locked.
Refer to wiring diagrams to inspect input power terminals, backplane connections and dry contact excitation wiring. Ensure no short circuits, reverse polarity or loose terminals exist.
Static Measurement (Power Off Status)
Measure insulation resistance between input power lines and ground with a multimeter.
Verify there is no short circuit among AC/DC input terminals.
Examine backplane contacts to remove foreign matter, dust and oxidation.
Initial Power-on Test
Gradually feed rated control power (100~264 V AC/DC) to the input terminals.
Observe front panel LED indicators: confirm the power indicator illuminates normally without fault alarms.
Measure input voltage via multimeter to ensure it stays within the designated operating range.
Detect internal regulated DC output through rack backplane terminals to validate stable power supply for the main UR relay.
Test the 48 VDC dry contact excitation output and confirm valid voltage supply for contact input loops.
Load Performance Verification
Activate the main UR relay and all fitted plug-in modules to achieve full operating load.
Continuously monitor the operating status of UR-SHA; check for any power-associated alarms displayed on the relay HMI or EnerVista software.
Verify power hold-up capability: simulate momentary power failure and confirm the UR system operates steadily with hold-up time ≥20 ms.
Track module temperature to avoid abnormal overheating under sustained full-load operation.
Protection Function Check
Validate activation of integrated protection mechanisms: over-temperature shutdown, over-current protection and over-voltage protection.
Destructive overload or short-circuit tests shall not be performed on-site except under controlled laboratory environments.
Retrieve self-diagnostic data using EnerVista UR Setup software, clear historical fault logs and confirm no permanent hardware faults.
System Integration Test
Trigger all digital inputs powered by the 48 VDC excitation of UR-SHA; confirm contact status can be accurately captured by the UR relay.
Execute protection logic tests on the main UR unit to guarantee stable power supply will not trigger relay reset or unintended tripping.
Carry out continuous operation testing for at least 2 hours and record voltage values, temperature data and alarm conditions.
Post-commissioning Confirmation & Documentation
Download event logs from the UR relay and confirm no power failure or undervoltage incidents are recorded.
Sort out test data covering input voltage, output voltage, operating temperature and LED status.
Fill out commissioning records, reinstall cabinet covers and arrange wiring neatly.
For future maintenance replacement, cut off power to the entire rack before removing the UR-SHA module.
