SDCS-PIN-51-COAT 3ADT220090R0006 ABB Measurement Card new

The ABB SDCS-PIN-51-COAT (order code 3ADT220090R0006) is the measuring and interface board of the DCS800 DC drive, performing AC/DC armature voltage sensing via high-ohmic resistor chains (scaled by cutting jumpers W1–W26), armature current measurement from CT secondaries through burden resistors R1–R21 calibrated to 1.5 V at rated current (3 V at 2 × IdN), PTC heatsink temperature supervision, and sorting of firing pulses for D5/D6/D7 bridges before they reach the PIN-46/PIN-48 pulse transformer boards.

Functions of ABB SDCS‑PIN‑51‑COAT (3ADT220090R0006)

Measurement Signal Acquisition Captures low‑level feedback signals of armature current, field current and armature voltage from the DCS800 DC drive power unit. It also acquires resistance‑change signals from motor PTC temperature sensors to implement motor thermal condition monitoring.

Signal Conditioning and Conversion Performs conditioning, scaling and filtering on raw analog measurement signals, converting them into standardized signals compatible with the SDCS‑CON main control board. It suppresses field signal interference to ensure reliable measurement precision.

Digital Status Signal Processing Accepts discrete signals including external enable commands, circuit‑breaker feedback, auxiliary‑contact status and hardware fault alerts from the power unit. Processed status data is forwarded to the main control logic for further handling.

Motor Over‑temperature Protection Continuously tracks resistance variations of PTC sensors. When motor temperature exceeds the preset threshold, it activates the over‑temperature alarm output and supports thermal‑protection interlock for the drive system.

Fault Signal Transmission Detects hardware abnormalities originating from the power section. It generates electrically‑isolated fault status outputs and sends fault codes together with diagnostic data to the SDCS‑CON main controller over the internal backplane bus.

Galvanic Isolation Protection Delivers galvanic isolation between the high‑power measurement domain and low‑voltage control circuits. It protects the main control unit against high‑voltage surges and strengthens overall system noise immunity.

Data Interaction with Main Controller Supports bidirectional data communication via the backplane internal bus. It uploads processed measurement readings, temperature values and fault events, while receiving relevant configuration parameters from the SDCS‑CON control board.
